For a little inspiration I thought I'd share with you one of my favourite styled shoots to date. For this shoot we headed down to Studland Beach in Dorset, UK, just me, my second shooter, a beautiful model called Emma and two of Nicki Hill's bridal gowns from her couture collection. Since this was a beach shoot, I wanted to keep things natural so didn't use a hair stylist or make-up artist on this occasion. It was a beautiful day, if not a little too bright and windy at times but we captured some great images none the less.
On this particular shoot I wanted to try some fashion style poses which I had been researching beforehand. Just having the freedom to do what we wanted was great and although these shoots aren't paid work, they help to keep the creativity alive and enable the opportunity to try new things.
The image below was completely unposed and yet it's one of my favourite bridal images to date. The wind was blowing Emma's hair across her face and as she turned around to pull her hair away from her face, I captured this image. I've also been experimenting with background layers and textures in these images which I applied using Photoshop.
