Gear Review: The Best iPad Keyboard Ever

.

I love my iPad. I mean like, really love it. I love it for traveling (watching movies on planes), reading (in bed late at night while my husband is asleep without having to have a light on) and sharing images (same-day slideshows at weddings). But- what I haven't loved it for, until now, is typing. That's why I have a MacBook right? Yeah, but I don't always have my Macbook with me… but I almost always have my iPad with me.

I've been searching for three plus years trying to find the right keyboard for my laptop and then one night at a local Showiteer meeting my friend Denise Gotcher of Ryan & Denise popped out her iPad and BRYDGE keyboard and I fell in love.

It's not cheap, but for the quality it's affordable (aka worth it!). It's fantastic, and in my honest opinion having purchased and tried multiple others, it's the best iPad keyboard ever (to-date). What makes it the best? The keyboard is large enough to actually type on, you can purchase a version with speakers (that are really great) and it holds your iPad securely at a variety of angles (which is nice for traveling when you watch a movie and want to set your iPad on the tray table and angle it for a good view).

Now instead of having to use my Macbook for typing anything of significant length I can choose to use my iPad with BRYDGE+ keyboard. It's great for taking notes during workshops and meet-ups, great for responding to emails while sitting on the couch and great for jotting down quick notes in Evernote. I've even used it to book weddings through ShootQ… eliminating the need to take my laptop to client meetings.

I bought the BRYDGE+ with speakers for $99. You can find it (and several other models – with lower and higher prices) at www.brydgekeyboards.com. Right now their BRYDGEAIR version is on sale for $150 (normally $199). Another cool fact about BRYDGE is that is started as a Kickstarter project in California. The company has since then been sold, but it's always fun to see someone's little project turn into a global product.
