Caileigh Kyle is a wedding and portrait photographer who built her own website using Showit.
What was the first step in creating your Showit site?
First, I tried to organize and simplify what kind of content I wanted to have on my website. I wanted the information available to potential clients to be as specific as possible but also full of my brand and personality. My previous website was a bit cluttered with information and so I wanted to make sure I had a perfect website structure before I actually built anything on Showit.
I think my landing page is a perfect peek at how I see the world. It navigates people to where they'd want to go and feels so clean and visually refreshing, which was one of my main priorities for the website.
I looked for design elements around the web that complimented my style of photography. I tried to narrow down what type of elements of web design I was attracted to and what my ideal client would be attracted to as well. Editorial design played a large part in inspiring me, since I saw a lot of the same stuff online when looking for web design inspiration.
What was your favorite thing about using Showit for your website?
I love how my website can display the exact same way on a phone or tablet as it does on my computer. Praise HTML5!!
What was the most challenging part about building your site, and how did you overcome the challenge?
The biggest recent challenge was deciding to narrow my galleries into “Weddings” and “Portraits”. I had four galleries previously, but I really want to focus on wedding and portrait work, and therefore I showcased it on this new website.
