Live: Going Full-Time with Jordan & Amy Demos

.

Today we have the pleasure of talking with Amy and Jordan Demos. They are a husband and wife team, based in Phoenix, Arizona, but shoot weddings and engagements all over the country. Their beautiful work has been featured on several Blogs, including an award on Style me Pretty, and their work has even appeared in People Magazine! Amy and Jordan are high school sweet hearts, who married one month after their senior year in college. From there they both became full-time elementary school teachers in next-door classrooms. That was actually the first time they were in business together.

Amy had dreamed of being a wedding photographer, and when she found out that a dad of one of the students at their school was a professional, she asked him if he would ever consider taking her to one of his weddings. She told him she’d work for free, carry bags, get water, basically anything to get some real-life experience. He really took Amy under his wing, mentored her, and threw her into the deep end of the water right away. On Amy’s very first wedding with him, he had her shoot the bride coming down the aisle! Talk about sink or swim! She hooked Jordan soon after that. It wasn't long before they realized that they wanted to do this together full time, and started planning for their transition from teachers to full time wedding photographers.

Today on the show, Amy and Jordan are going going full-time, how they made the transition, what steps they took to plan for the transition, how they knew it was time to make the jump, and what has happened to their business since then. This much we know, they would tell you, “There's nothing better in the world!” Watch and learn how they have successfully made the transition to full time photographers.
